Delta Electronics (Thailand) Wins 2008 CES Innovation Award for World’s Smallest Adapter

2008 International CES

TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Co., Ltd. (DET), today announced that it’s Wall/Auto/Air universal adapter MB-70 has been selected by the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES®) as an Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award honoree in the Portable Power product category. DET will have the prestigious honor to display this product at the 2008 CES in Las Vegas, from January 7-10, 2008.

"DET is pleased to receive the 2008 CES Innovation Award for developing the world’s smallest power adapter, which offers maximum mobility and an attractive exterior design. This innovative breakthrough is another DET milestone in developing novel power products," said Mr. Henry Shieh, president of DET.

The MB-70 is the world’s smallest universal power adapter providing 70W power for notebooks and USB chargeable devices (size: 12.88 x 7 x 2.36 cm). With its innovative breakthrough of a detachable Auto/Air module, this DC adapter provides users with maximum mobility for charging both laptops and gadgets at home, in the office, in a car, or on an airplane. The Auto/ Air module is only half the size of a typical name card and is less than 2 cm thick.

The embedded USB port allows users to charge USB powered devices with only a single adaptor to minimize hassles. Unlike conventional power adapters, it redefines the look and feel of power adaptors. It is also more aesthetically appealing with its sleek glossy black finished casing encircled with a contrasting silver band.

DET plans to commercially launch this product under a new brand name in early 2008. With its impressive product features, we are confident that the MB-70 will be rapidly and widely accepted by users around the world.
