Xilinx at SDR Technical Conference 2007

What: Xilinx Demonstrates Low Power Solutions for Tactical Radiosat SDR Technical Conference 2007

Where: Marriott Tech Center

Denver, Colo.

Booth #2

When: November 5 - 9, 2007

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) , the world's leading provider of programmable logic solutions, today announced that it will showcase its Virtex(TM) FPGA-based solutions for Software Defined Radio (SDR) at the Software Defined Radio Technical Conference, to be held at The Marriott Tech Center, November 5 - 9, 2007 in Denver, Colo. Xilinx high-performance programmable solutions enable SDR developers to meet demanding size, weight, power and cost (SWAP-C) goals for next-generation secure systems.

Xilinx SDR Participation includes the following:

Booth Demonstrations
Partially Reconfigurable FPGA-based Architecture
Developed by Thales, the demonstration will showcase how designers can
overcome size, weight and power (SWAP) constraints by implementing
multiple applications in a Xilinx(R) FPGA using partial reconfiguration.
Partial reconfiguration utilizes the inherent flexibility of FPGAs to
adapt a hardware design to modify applications while keeping the rest of
the device active.

Small Form Factor Software Defined Radio Development Platform
Demonstration of Xilinx Small Form Factor SDR Development Platform acting
as a GSM picocell enabling voice and data communications between standard
GSM cell phones. The Development Platform combines powerful power
optimization tools with reduced board size (6 x 5 inches). The Development
Platform enables reduction of size, weight, and power for mobile,
handheld, and small form factor SDRs used in military, public safety and
commercial radio applications. The power optimization tool allows waveform
developers to optimize total system power via iterative power measurements
and re-partitioning of algorithms across TI's digital signal processor and
Xilinx FPGAs.

Technical Sessions
Tuesday, November 6, 2007
-- "Generalizing Partial Reconfiguration Designs"
Stephen Neuendorffer and Chad Epifanio, Xilinx, Inc.
-- "The Myths of Code Portability"
