BlueStor™ provides peak performance in RAID environments, surpassing input-output operations per second currently available from other platforms. “Using off-the-shelf MS Storage Server 2003 and LSI’s MegaRAID 8344 PCIe controller installed in the BlueStor™ configuration, we’ve achieved over 55,000 IOPS when using Dual-core AMD Opteron processors,” said Stu Fisher, Vice President of Business Development for JMR. “That’s about 31 percent better performance than when the identical system is tested with the same benchmarking scripts using dual-core Xeon® processors. AMD’s Direct Connect Architecture is ideal for increased I/O demands when coupled with JMR’s BlueStor™ platforms.” JMR BlueStor™ PCIe RAID storage systems, enabled with PeSAN™ technology and connected to the BlueStor™ Storage Server, are achieving a combined and sustained throughput of more than 1,000 MB/s, with peaks at slightly greater than 1,300 MB/s, using just three PeSAN™ disk drive shelves. Five years of research and development by JMR has led to the creation of PeSAN™, which is a patented technology that connects storage directly to an external PCIe host bus. “JMR’s BlueStor™ Storage Server based on AMD Opteron processors provides a compelling unified storage system with exceptional throughput and can help deliver storage scalability to growing businesses,” said Greg White, Vice President, Desktop and Embedded Product Marketing at AMD. “The benefits of networked storage enhanced by the technical capability of AMD64 technology should prove to be a powerful storage solution for JMR’s customers.” About JMR Recently, JMR successfully developed disruptive technology covered by new patents bringing very high-performance, low-cost designs to market. The company's new strategy for "Direct Attached Storage" is expected to become the de-facto standard for medium and large-scale data storage over a broad range of applications.
