Building on its partnership with Red Hat's JBoss Division, Recursion Software has integrated JBoss Messaging with its Voyager Edge 6.1 intelligent agent platform. As a service bridging JBoss Messaging to and from any Java Message Service (JMS) compliant service and Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ), Voyager provides JBoss customers with access to the complete .NET architecture on any embedded or edge device. Now, customers can rapidly build intelligent mobile applications to run on multiple wireless devices and networks, while maintaining interoperability with many heterogeneous enterprise systems. Customers benefit from powerful edge-to-enterprise integration within widely distributed heterogeneous environments with the advantage of Voyager’s minimal footprint, which is essential to constrained wireless and embedded environments. JMS messaging transactions are simplified through transparently remote components and a single API that can publish and subscribe messages to any device, including PDAs, Smartphones, sensors, laptops, and servers, regardless of which virtual machine – Java VM or .NET Common Language Runtime (CLR) – they are running on, or moving to. “Voyager Edge is uniquely positioned to be the next generation platform for Mobile 2.0 technology,” said Bob DeAnna, chief technology officer, Recursion Software. “We see a world of dynamic, ad-hoc device communities that are completely platform-agnostic and share intelligence on a wide range of wired and wireless networks. Partnering with an industry leader like Red Hat and integrating with their JBoss Enterprise Application Platform is a critical step in making this possible.” New to this release, Voyager’s unique space capabilities easily integrate with an enterprise's existing JBoss-based infrastructure. Voyager spaces take a huge step toward a socially networked, Mobile 2.0 world by providing guaranteed peer-to-peer-group and peer-to-enterprise messaging, which allows the dynamic creation of ad-hoc device communities. Voyager allows any geographically distributed network running JBoss to push and receive content to and from Wi-Fi enabled devices that have subscribed to them. “The extension of our messaging service to the .NET platform as well as Voyager’s advanced mobility make JBoss technology even more compelling for modern applications,” said Shaun Connolly, vice president of product management, JBoss. “The combination of our technologies offers a powerful, enterprise computing solution to a wide range of wireless and embedded devices, which will be intelligent participants in the next generation of applications. We are pleased that Recursion continues to innovate with JBoss technologies.” Recursion Software has been a JBoss partner since 2006 when it released the Voyager Wizard™, which utilizes the JBoss Rules business rules engine and enables the creation, deployment and management of intelligent mobile agents on the JBoss platform. A free community edition of Voyager Edge 6.1 is now available for download at www.recursionsw.com. About Recursion Software, Inc.
