Virtutech to Present “Debugging Real-Time Multiprocessor and Multicore Systems” at Embedded Systems Conference 2007

Virtutech Simics Showcased at Booth Number 1138
Embedded Systems Conference 2007

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Virtutech, Inc.:
WHAT:

Virtutech, Inc., the leading provider of virtualized software development solutions for advanced electronic systems, will present a three-hour class on techniques and tools for debugging multiprocessor and multicore real-time embedded systems at Embedded Systems Conference 2007 in San Jose, Calif. Virtutech Simics technology will be showcased at Virtutech booth number 1138.

WHY: Debugging software running on multicore and multiprocessor real-time systems is known to be a difficult problem, because such systems are inherently non-deterministic. Program errors are difficult to provoke, identify and recreate because the intrusive effects of debugging often hide problems. Thus, new debug tools and techniques are needed in a multiprocessor and multicore setting. This class provides a background on current challenges and discusses the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches, including software solutions on the target, trace-based logging, and virtual target systems.
