Under the terms of the programme up to three selected customers will have the opportunity to work with Comsys over the next few months, to begin developing their WiMAX handset designs using the ComMAX processors before their general market availability. The participants will enjoy unprecedented access to Comsys’ in-house design resources, including applications support, the use of development boards and the provision of relevant documentation. “This intimate business and technical relationship will offer the programme members a kick start with their WiMAX handsets, giving them faster time-to-market, preferential access to the reference designs, and access to our experienced technical team,” commented Ronny Gorlicki, Executive VP Sales at Comsys. “They will also have the opportunity to influence the design and specification of the processor itself.” He added, “We are already in negotiations with key customers about joining the Early Engagement Programme, but are still willing to talk with anyone else who may fit the criteria for participating in this programme.” ComMAX is a product line of flexible multimode OFDM/A baseband processors that enable service continuity between cellular and Mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e) networks. Targeted at manufacturers of multimode mobile-WiMAX terminals, ComMAX processors provide a comprehensive mobile broadband solution with MIMO capability that can operate over multiple frequency bands, presents best-in-class performance and offers substantial cost and power-savings. Last autumn the ComMAX product line was awarded ‘Best Chip Design’ at the prestigious Best of WiMAX World Awards, which recognized leaders in the development and deployment of WiMAX technologies. Comsys is exhibiting on Stand 2B73 in Hall 2 at the 3GSM World Congress. About Comsys
