SeeControl Introduces Unique Identification (UID) Software Edition Creating Total Asset Visibility for Highly Secure Defense Applications

Wireless Handheld Application and Asset Tracking Software Meets DoD Requirements

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SeeControl Inc., the leader in providing total asset visibility and security over the Internet, today announced the release of a UID (Unique Identification) edition of its award-winning On Demand product suite. SeeControl On Demand is a revolutionary web-based system that centralizes information pertaining to inventory activity in real-time. It connects to other SeeControl software, including mobile devices, to streamline the inventory data collection and management process.

The Department of Defense (DoD) has mandated that all assets and property owned by the DoD, including assets in the possession of contractors, be tracked with unique identification numbers and codes in accordance with MIL STD 130. MIL STD 130 is a DoD specification for contractors to choose from a range of labeling and data structure options to comply with policy.

“SeeControl works very closely with its clients and is committed to exceeding client expectations,” said Al Cohen, CEO at SeeControl. “We constantly communicate with our client base to identify and fulfill their evolving needs. Through this ongoing dialogue with our aerospace and defense industry customers, we realized the need to help defense contractors better comply with current and future government item tracking policies. With SeeControl’s UID system, customers can meet DoD mandates in a timely and cost-effective manner.”

SeeControl’s UID edition can scan and interpret this information whether it is embedded in linear barcodes, 2D barcodes or RFID tags. This allows customers to use a single software and communications platform for all of their data collection and item tracking initiatives.

SeeControl’s UID Edition will be generally available in the second quarter of 2007. A beta version is currently available and in use at a multinational defense contractor tracking materials between domestic facilities and field stocking points in the Middle East.
