| BusinessWire Xacta® Implements New DIACAP C&A Process TrainingTelos® Subsidiary Teams with Hatha Systems to Deliver Training in the Practice of Life Cycle Certification and Accreditation under the Interim DIACAP ASHBURN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Following the release of the Interim DIACAP guidance by the Department of Defense, Xacta Corporation announces that it is introducing a comprehensive training program to educate system security officers, program managers, and IT managers on the transition to and requirements of DIACAP. DIACAP stands for DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process, and is the latest guidance offered by the Department of Defense for the assurance of its information technology systems. During the two-day course, participants will receive instruction and take part in practical hands-on exercises, including developing a DIACAP package, applying the DIACAP methodology within the system life cycle, executing DIACAP tests and evaluations, as well as learning the Top 10 Tips for executing a cost-effective transition from DITSCAP to DIACAP. Xacta has partnered with Hatha Systems and its Executive Vice President, Dr. Julie E. Mehan, a thought-leader on information systems security and information assurance, to develop and teach the course content. The classes will be taught by Dr. Mehan and an Xacta-certified co-instructor. This training can be followed with additional instruction on using Xacta IA Manager™, the company’s DIACAP-ready commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product for automating certification and accreditation processes. “DIACAP represents a major change from the previous DITSCAP standard for C&A,” said Dr. Mehan. “In a net-centric world, constrained by legal and regulatory requirements, education in the new C&A process is essential to provide a foundation for the execution of the new process throughout the system life cycle. Xacta’s specialized DIACAP training gives those involved with the changed C&A process greater insight into the new requirements not only through lectures, but also real-world scenarios and exercises.” The DIACAP training complements Xacta’s other security offerings, which include IA consulting services, training in other C&A processes such as DITSCAP & NIST, and Xacta IA Manager, a leading tool for automating C&A processes to assist in meeting DIACAP and other government accreditation requirements. After 26 years in senior government service positions, Dr. Mehan served as the program manager for several programs delivering information assurance and security-related privacy services to senior Department of Defense clients, including program management support to the development of the DIACAP instruction and supporting services. She brings over 25 years of combined experience in information systems security design and development and information assurance, information operations, and intelligence operations to her role as DIACAP trainer. Dr. Mehan has been a frequent speaker, most recently co-presenting a well-received tutorial on C&A at the December 2006 ACSAC Conference. Xacta Corporation was founded in 2000 to leverage nearly two decades of experience garnered by its parent company, Telos Corporation, in the field of information security. Xacta is now a leading provider of government-validated secure enterprise solutions to the federal government and the financial services industry.
