RTI qualified for this designation by meeting Sun Microsystems' stringent criteria for excellence as a supplier of high-performance messaging solutions and by committing to tight strategic and technical alignment with Sun. “I am pleased to welcome Real-Time Innovations to the Principal Partner level of the Sun Partner Advantage Program,” said Amir Raz, market segment manager, Systems Management, at Sun Microsystems. “RTI has demonstrated its continued support of Sun with its most recent port and software extensions to the Solaris 10 operating system (OS). With RTI, Sun customers can get the most out of their investment in infrastructure and benefit from high-performance access to time-critical data.” Specifically, RTI has ported RTI Data Distribution Service, its high-performance messaging and integration middleware, to the Solaris 10 OS. With this release, RTI Data Distribution Service now supports the Solaris 10 OS in 32-bit mode on both Pentium and UltraSPARC architectures and provides native support in 64-bit mode on AMD64/EM64T and UltraSPARC architectures. Other new features with this release include a new IPv6 built-in transport allowing communication using UDP over IPv6 networks and support for Sun Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE) SDK 1.5. Also new with RTI Data Distribution Service on the Solaris 10 OS is the built-in capability to publish Differentiated Services (DS) information, which is a mechanism for classifying how messages are delivered, managing network traffic and providing quality of service (QoS) guarantees on modern IP networks. RTI joins the growing community of ISVs developing applications for, or porting applications to, the Solaris 10 OS by achieving Principal Partner status. The benefits to Sun customers include access to a broader range of pre-tested, optimized solutions; investment protection and reduced total cost of ownership through collaborative engineering between Sun and its partners; and a higher level of predictability and support as Sun rolls out its latest technologies and software upgrades. “The business and technical resources provided to us through the Sun Partner Advantage Program has allowed us to enrich our software to take advantage of the advanced feature set of the Solaris 10 OS,” said David Barnett, vice president of Product Management for RTI. “Sun continues to be one of the leading innovators in our industry and the platform of choice for many of our customers. Now our joint customers will enjoy the reliability and scalability of Solaris 10 together with RTI’s high-performance middleware. We are very happy to further strengthen our relationship with Sun by becoming a Principal Partner.” About RTI Data Distribution Service Price & Availability About the Sun Partner Advantage Program About RTI RTI, Real-Time Innovations, The Real-Time Middleware Company and RTI Data Distribution Service are registered trademarks or trademarks of Real-Time Innovations, Inc.
