Mercury Selected by AMCC to Provide Serial RapidIO Verification IP and IP CoresMercury Computer Systems announced that Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (AMCC) has licensed Mercury's Serial RapidIO Verification Intellectual Property (IP) and Serial RapidIO IP core products for its chip design and verification efforts. Mercury’s Serial RapidIO Verification IP is a highly configurable, enhanced-function verification environment that enables developers to rapidly integrate RapidIO technology into their products for faster time to market. It is architected to provide an end-to-end solution for Serial RapidIO-based applications in either ASIC- or FPGA-based configurations, and supports I/O and message-passing logical layer standards. AMCC, a leader in network and embedded PowerPC processing, optical transport and storage solutions, intends to use the Serial RapidIO Verification IP at the pre-silicon stage of verification to model and simulate interactions with other interfaces in the chip design. Over the last two years, Mercury has successfully demonstrated system-level IP for RapidIO interfaces working in a range of silicon technologies, including FPGA, structured ASIC, and ASIC vendors.
