Oxford Semiconductor's OXU210HP Achieves USB-IF High-Speed Peripheral Certification Certification Validates Product Compliance and Interoperability with USB-Enabled Consumer Electronics MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oxford Semiconductor Inc., a leading provider of high-performance connectivity solutions for consumer, storage and multimedia applications, today announced that its OXU210HP successfully completed the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) High-Speed Peripheral testing and has been added to the Integrators List. The OXU210HP is a single chip USB On-The-Go (OTG) high-speed host and peripheral controller and is Oxford Semiconductor's latest controller in its line of embedded USB connectivity solutions. The USB-IF certification ensures that qualified products meet the specification requirements of a High-Speed Peripheral controller and that they support the maximum interoperability with other USB-enabled products in the market. “Achieving this certification validates the design and engineering effort that has gone into the OXU210HP. We have taken our years of experience in embedded connectivity to design a high performance, single-chip controller that offers an optimized connectivity solution for a broad range of consumer electronics,” said Paul Liu, Oxford Semiconductor product marketing director. “This certification validates our product solution and performance to provide our customers with a high degree of confidence that their products will pass the USB logo certification process.” The OXU210HP was introduced in June of this year and is targeted at consumer electronics that require high data throughput such as digital televisions, set-top-boxes and DVD recorders. Additionally, the controller is ideal for portable applications that require a small footprint and extended battery life; products in this category include smart phones, personal navigation devices/GPS and portable media players. Simultaneous port operation, coupled with a 16/32-bit processor interface, allows the OXU210HP to achieve its high performance connectivity. The product is also distinguished by advanced power management features including multiple clock domains and the ability to dynamically move between three power states. Certification testing was completed at the USB-IF Compliance Workshop in Santa Clara, Calif. on September 12, 2006.
