Reliability is a concern when working with biometrics. If a user has unusually wet or dry hands it can affect the sensors ability to get an accurate reading. Other factors such as electrostatic discharge, cuts or narrow fingerprint ridges and valleys can cause inaccuracies in many biometric fingerprint readers.
