LSI Podcast Series on 'Reconstructing the Digital Home" Adds Segment on Edutainment

MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 20 - LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE:LSI) , a pioneer in media processing for the digital home, today announced the availability of the latest podcast in its five-part series called "Reconstructing the Digital Home." Complementing last week's announcement of the company's ZEVIO(TM) 1020 application processor ( http://zevio.lsi.com/ ), which enables sub-$100 electronic toys, today's podcast is entitled "Edutainment and Etoys: Child's Play?" ( http://www.podtech.net/home/technology/1220/edutainment-and-etoys- childs-play ).

The series features Neil Bullock, senior strategic marketing manager, Consumer Products Group, LSI Logic. Bullock discusses the opportunities and challenges of the expanding digital world, its impact on the digital home, and the increasing reliance on semiconductor providers to make it a reality. The podcasts, located at http://www.podtech.net/lsi , include the following topics:

-- Topic 1, Oct. 9: Vision of the Digital Home: Clear or Blurry?
The vision of the digital home has been around for more than 10 years.
Are we getting closer to, or farther away from, that vision? Has the
vision for the digital home changed? Bullock discusses these and other
questions around the digital home.

-- Topic 2, Oct. 23: H.264/VC-1 -- So You Say You Want a Revolution?
MPEG-2 essentially has been the backbone of the broadcasting and
consumer electronics industries over the past 20 years. With the advent
of advanced compression technologies like H.264 and VC-1, and the
growing importance of transcoding, is the industry going through a
revolution or evolution? Bullock explores the business and technology
impact.

-- Topic 3, Nov. 6: Unleashing Content
The way content is managed is key to the success of the new digital
home. How has the importance of content in consumers' lives changed?
What are consumers' expectations and how can technology meet these
expectations? Bullock talks about the challenges consumers, CE
manufacturers, silicon providers and content owners face when content
is unleashed.

-- Topic 4, Nov. 20: Edutainment and Etoys: Child's Play?
More and more electronics are showing up in children's toys and
educational products. Why now? What's driving the market? How does
including education in the product change the way CE manufacturers
design products? Bullock describes the importance of "playing nice" to
be successful in these evolving markets.

-- Topic 5, Dec. 4: Unwrapping Consumer Electronics: Ease-of-Use
With the holiday season approaching, consumers are considering what CE
products they want to wrap up as gifts. The success of products like
Apple's iPod is a reminder to CE manufacturers that more than cool
technology is needed to make a winning product. Bullock unwraps what it
takes to make a product successful and how the entire supply chain can
contribute.
