LTX Introduces the X-Series Fusion LX Test SystemNew LX Provides a Compact, Cost-Effective Test Solution from the Production Floor to the Engineering Lab NORWOOD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LTX Corporation (Nasdaq: LTXX), a leading provider of semiconductor test solutions, today announced its new X-Series Fusion LX test system. The LX system builds on the success of the company’s award winning desktop DX system – offering more instrument slots, a direct loadboard interface and comprehensive production capabilities – while still maintaining a compact configuration that does not require a mainframe. This makes the LX ideal for both high volume production and engineering characterization. It offers 20 instrument slots, 128 digital pins, and the X-Series’ full range of DSP, DC and power capabilities. The addition of the LX further expands the scalability of the compatible X-Series family of test systems, providing the lowest infrastructure cost for a production test solution. This increases the addressable market of the X-series by enabling it to provide a compelling production solution for cost-sensitive analog and low-end mixed signal applications. In addition, the zero-footprint design of the LX enables it to provide more cost-effective probe solutions. “When we introduced our desktop DX test system, it was met with great interest, both by our customers and industry watchers, including receiving the 2005 Test & Measurement World Best in Test Award for semiconductor test,” noted Dave Tacelli, chief executive officer and president of LTX. “Clearly the idea of a zero-footprint, cost-effective, engineering test system that offered compatibility with other X-Series configurations addressed a need in the industry. However, our customers also wanted to apply that same concept beyond the engineering lab – to the high volume production floor. Our response is the LX.” “The LX gives our customers even greater flexibility in the cost-effective deployment of the X-Series,” said Bruce MacDonald, vice president of product marketing for LTX. “We built this system to address our customers’ requirements for high volume testing of their most cost-sensitive analog and low-end mixed signal devices. The compact LX can also be configured specifically for the engineering lab, enabling customers to rapidly move into volume manufacturing by utilizing the LX’s powerful production capabilities, or by seamlessly transitioning to other X-Series configurations. This comprehensive scalability and compatibility ensures that our customers always have the right combination of performance and cost.” ABOUT THE LX The LX incorporates 20 universal instrument slots, enabling it to test a broad range of applications. It can be configured as a complete production solution, featuring a full function manipulator with XYZ docking to probers and handlers and a remote tester controller for DUT power and EMO. The LX is also available in a low-cost engineering configuration, featuring a limited function stand to minimize costs. System features include: Comprehensive portfolio of proven mixed signal instruments, including multiple synthesizers and digitizers, and a full complement of DC and power test options ABOUT LTX LTX Corporation (Nasdaq: LTXX) is a leading supplier of test solutions for the global semiconductor industry. LTX’s X-Series, the industry’s most comprehensive family of production-proven, compatible test systems, delivers a scalable solution that provides the right test performance and the right cost of test. Combined with LTX’s industry-leading applications engineering and customer service teams, the X-Series enables companies to accelerate their time to market, optimize test economics and stay ahead of the technology curve.
