Cornet Technology Introduces its Celero CVME Board at the Real-Time & Embedded Computing Conference

Single Board Computer Solution Offers Time Saving Benefits for Embedded Military and Aerospace Designers

Real-Time & Embedded Computing Conference
SPRINGFIELD, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cornet Technology Communications (CTC), the network communications solutions division of Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI), will introduce its Celero CVME-7448S solution today at the Real-Time & Embedded Computing Conference (RTECC) (www.rtecc.com). The Celero CVME-7448S is one of the fastest PowerPC single board computers available in the commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) VersaModule-Eurocard (VME) community. By adopting a COTS solution, embedded military and aerospace designers will save enormous amounts of time and energy in designing hardware from scratch.

Interested parties are invited to meet with Cornet Technology representatives at the show, October 17, 2006 at the J.T. Daugherty Conference Center in Patuxent River, MD.

Cornet Technology’s Celero CVME-7448S provides a single board computing solution for embedded military and aerospace designers. The board can be used for any air-cooled VME application requiring high performance and considerable input/output (I/O) capabilities. VME applications can include signal intelligence, automated test equipment (ATE), and satellite ground stations.

The Celero CVME solution allows systems designers to develop signal intelligence and automated testing equipment (ATE) applications which require an embedded computing platform capable of collecting, analyzing, and disseminating large amounts of data in real-time. Cornet Technology’s solution is ideal for systems designers choosing COTS products to achieve substantial cost savings and a reduced time-to-market.

The Celero CVME-7448S, powered by a Freescale MPC7448 PowerPC processor, offers built-in Altivec optimized digital signal processing capabilities and a 1 MB on-processor cache. A 1.6 GHz clock speed makes the Celero CVME solution the fastest PowerPC VME single board computer available on the market today.

Manville Chan, program manager, Cornet Technology Communications division, said, “The Celero CVME-7448S was designed based on feedback from numerous military customers and as a result, we have engineered the Celero CVME solution to satisfy the life cycle of a long-term military program. The Celero CVME-7448S includes board support packages (BSPs) for VxWorks® 6.x and Linux operating systems. This allows systems designers to seamlessly integrate their application codes into a real-time operating system environment.”

Cornet Technology has over 15 years experience working with the United States Department of Defense. The company’s communications products and services are found in multiple classes of U.S. Navy ships, in U.S. Army bases, and at U.S. Air Force bases and in airborne communication centers.

Pricing and Availability

The Celero CVME-7448S will be available for shipping in the first quarter of 2007 at a starting price of $5,000. Please visit www.cornet.com or call 703-658-3400 for additional information.
