Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) , the world's leading PLD provider to the automotive industry today announced that it will showcase its programmable solutions roadmap based on the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) networking protocol for automotive electronics at the Convergence 2006 conference, October 16-18, 2006 in Detroit. The complete hardware/software solution offering includes a high-performance MOST Network Interface Controller (NIC), associated software stack, and application-tailored intellectual property (IP) cores.

Xilinx Booth Demonstrations:

Xilinx MOST Solution:

Demonstration of Xilinx new Media-Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) solution enabled by Spartan(TM)-3E devices. Xilinx MOST LogiCORE(TM) IP and MicroBlaze(TM) embedded soft processor are combined with MOCEAN Network Services to demonstrate remote media player control and streaming audio over the MOST fiber optic network.

LogiCRAFT2 Infotainment:

Demonstration of Xylon LogiCRAFT2 board, powered by Xilinx Spartan-3, will showcase the ability to deliver multi-user infotainment on an affordable, highly integrated, and scalable platform. This system will demonstrate A/V distribution of real-time camera; DVD and gaming, with user independent menu overlay/control using Xylon LogicBRICKS IP and Xilinx MicroBlaze embedded soft processor. As well as advanced graphics features allowing for maximum user interface flexibility.

Ibeo Laser-Based Driver Assistance:

Demonstration of an Ibeo Laser-based Driver Assistance System with integrated Xilinx FPGA. The demo will also feature a sensor system integrated in a vehicle front-end. An animated video will demonstrate multiple driver assistance functions on the road.

BOSCH Night View System:

Demonstration of a Xilinx Spartan(TM)-IIE based camera board and ECU processing board that powers a BOSCH Night View System. The system leverages infrared technology to enable early detection of dangerous nighttime driving situations.

Video Co-Processing Kit

Demonstration features a Xilinx XEVM642 video co-processing solution with integrated Virtex(TM)-4 SX35 and Texas Instruments DM642 EVM board. Demonstrates the capability to develop high-performance video processing systems that can be applied to automotive applications.
