Concurrent Teams with G.T. Enterprises to Deliver Fully Integrated Real-Time Linux-Based Solutions to India

GTE to Further Accelerate Adoption of Concurrent’s RedHawk™ Linux® and NightStar™ Tools

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Concurrent (NASDAQ:CCUR), a leading provider of integrated computer solutions for mission-critical applications, today announced they are partnering with GT Enterprises (better known as GTE), one of the largest technology providers in South Asia, to expand the reach of Concurrent’s real-time Linux solutions, including its iHawk™ high-performance multiprocessor platforms and ImaGen visual servers powered by Concurrent’s RedHawk real-time Linux. Through this partnership, Concurrent seeks to provide developers in India with the necessary tools to truly harness the processing power of emerging multi-core computing environments.

“We’re delighted with the opportunity to bring Concurrent’s fully integrated, powerful, real-time Linux-based systems and advanced application development tools to the Indian marketplace,” said U. M. Taranath, CEO, G.T. Enterprises. “Our customers have a specific need for Concurrent’s real-time solutions. They mark a key addition to our growing line of software product offerings.”

GTE was founded in the early 1990's with a prime focus to promote Open Source Software and related tools to the growing Indian IT marketplace. Through their forward-thinking and enduring efforts to equip local companies with the latest emerging technologies, GTE has grown to become one of the largest distributors of software products in south Asia. GTE currently collaborates with software houses and vendors like Concurrent throughout the world providing over 350 products, supporting literature and documentation to its customers.

Concurrent’s iHawk real-time systems are powered by up to eight Intel Xeon® or AMD Opteron® sockets and up to 64 GB of memory in rack mount and tower enclosures. iHawks are true symmetric multiprocessors that run a single copy of RedHawk Linux. Configurable with a wide range of commercially available components, the iHawk is the ideal platform for today's simulation, data acquisition, process control and other time-critical applications.

Concurrent ImaGen visual servers provide multiple channels of state-of-the-art visualization and graphics performance ideal for today's simulation and modeling applications requiring enhanced realism and the ability to process very large amounts of input data. Typical applications include civil and military simulation, mission planning, homeland security, scientific and medical visualization, architectural design, energy exploration, and entertainment. With ImaGen, high-end image generation, once achievable only on large, costly, dedicated visual systems, is now available on commercial off-the-shelf servers employing graphics technology.

“Concurrent’s RedHawk Linux and NightStar debugging and analysis tools are becoming the de facto standard in real-time computing for those looking to stay ahead of the curve in this constantly evolving age of information delivery. Long popular with customers developing time-critical applications, our products truly equip developers with the tools they need to tackle complicated applications in multi-core processing environments,” said Gary Trimm, Concurrent CEO.

RedHawk Linux is an industry-standard, real-time version of the Linux operating system. RedHawk, compatible with the popular Red Hat® Linux distribution, provides determinism, high I/O throughput, guaranteed fast response to external events, and optimized interprocess communication. RedHawk is the ideal Linux environment for the complex time-critical applications.

NightStar is an integrated set of debugging and development tools especially valuable for developing complex, time-critical Linux applications. NightStar sets itself apart from other debuggers by allowing developers to run their programs at application speed, so they can experience their application’s real behavior. The NightStar suite includes the NightView™ source-level debugger, the NightTrace™ event analyzer, the NightProbe™ data monitor, the NightSim scheduler and the NightTune™ system and application tuner.
