Xirrus Introduces New Line of Enclosures for Its Award-Winning Wi-Fi ArrayWESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2006--Xirrus, Inc., the only provider of high capacity, long range Wi-Fi products that can effectively extend wired network capabilities to wireless -- without compromise, has announced today a new line of enclosures for its Wi-Fi Array family. The enclosures enable enterprises to deliver the next generation of Wi-Fi networks allowing for capacity and performance beyond the standard five year operating life. "Since the Xirrus Wi-Fi Array was designed, built and purchased for long term installation and usage in the Enterprise, we were driven to fulfill demand for enclosures that would protect the Array as an asset, similar to the way IT departments protect Switches, Routers, and Server Load Balancers," said Dirk Gates, CEO of Xirrus. "The Wi-Fi Array has also been architected and engineered in preparation for 802.11n allowing for it to remain in place through the 'n' upgrade wave that will hit in the next 2 to 3 years." Both the new Indoor and Outdoor Wi-Fi enclosures are fully compatible with the Xirrus' family of long range, high capacity Arrays. The Xirrus Wi-Fi Array can now be used in campus and metropolitan Wi-Fi environments by utilizing the new outdoor enclosure to maximize each Array's half-mile range and up to 648Mbps of aggregate wireless backhaul capacity. The Xirrus XE-4000 Wi-Fi Array Outdoor Enclosure is easily mountable on a pole or exterior wall and hardened to withstand wind, rain, lightning and humidity. It is internally heated and cooled. The Xirrus XE-2000 Wi-Fi Array Ceiling Enclosure is easily mountable in a standard 2'x2' drop down ceiling tile opening and hardened against dust and water damage. The Indoor Enclosure is tamper proof using dual "keyed" door locks and is UL Listed. For more information on Xirrus' line of Enclosures, visit http://www.xirrus.com/products/enclosures.html.
