LVL7's FASTPATH Software Earns IPv6 Ready Designation; Latest FASTPATH 4.4 Release Successfully Passes Rigorous Conformance and Interoperability Testing

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2006--LVL7 Systems, Inc., the leading provider of production-ready networking software, announced today that its FASTPATH(R) 4.4 software has earned the IPv6 Ready designation and logo from the IPv6 Forum, a worldwide industry association of Internet suppliers.

Reserved for products that pass a rigorous and objective test procedure conducted by the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), the IPv6 Ready designation validates system, software and device performance against specific parameters established by the IPv6 Forum.

FASTPATH software was one of the first products to complete a newly revised UNH-IOL test cycle that combined the previously-separate Phase 1 and Phase 2 test procedures into a single, comprehensive assessment. The new testing process, outlined in Revision 3.8.8 to the IPv6 Ready specifications, evaluates system interoperability, compliance with core protocols, and detailed performance measurements associated with multiple RFC industry standards.

"LVL7 has shown a positive commitment to IPv6 compliance and interoperability through involvement in the IPv6 Ready logo program," said Erica Williamsen, UNH-IOL's senior manager of Software and Applications, and manager of the IPv6 Consortium. "LVL7 has completed a rigorous body of tests that fully qualify FASTPATH 4.4 to join the family of approved IPv6 Ready Phase-2 solutions."

To participate in the revised test suite, FASTPATH 4.4.3 software functioned as the core networking software powering a Broadcom(R)-based platform equipped with the latest IPv6-capable StrataXGS(R) III switching silicon. Wind River's VxWorks(R) served as the operating system. By passing all the pertinent tests contained in the revised technical specifications, FASTPATH software became eligible for the IPv6 Ready logo recognition.

"Objective, third-party evaluations from organizations like UNH-IOL have a high degree of credibility in the industry and among our OEM customers," said Dave King, LVL7's vice president of marketing and strategy. "Obviously, we're pleased with the FASTPATH test results and the IPv6 Ready acknowledgment that comes from this achievement. But the real satisfaction comes from enabling our customers to rapidly introduce IPv6 Ready systems that are driving the next generation of computer networks."

FASTPATH 4.4.3 software became available this month. The FASTPATH 4.4.3 release also provides IPv6 support for Linux-based systems in addition to the IPv6 Ready implementation for VxWorks.
