LVL7 Selected by D-Link to Deliver Innovative WLAN Switch and Access Point Products; New FASTPATH(R) Software Gives D-Link Market-Leading Enterprise WLAN Solution

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 6, 2006--LVL7 Systems, Inc., the leading provider of production-ready networking software, has announced a major product initiative with D-Link Corporation that leverages its recently-introduced FASTPATH(R) Wireless LAN software. The agreement, encompassing multiple products, has FASTPATH software powering an entirely new line of D-Link enterprise-class wireless offerings, including a unified WLAN switch and two access point (AP) models that work in concert with a dedicated WLAN switch.

Designed to extend D-Link's current portfolio of WLAN products for small businesses, the new offerings target enterprise network customers by raising performance characteristics beyond earlier generation systems and competitive WLAN equipment. The FASTPATH-based products offer several innovative features that enable D-Link to deliver a differentiated and market-winning solution.

For example, to support emerging 802.11 handsets and similar sophisticated devices, the WLAN switch delivers an outstanding Layer 3 Fast Roaming capability. Since the product also provides for Peer-to-Peer WLAN switching, enterprises can migrate systems and services to the edge of the network and build a unified wireless + wireline switching environment without backhauling traffic. Additionally, large-scale WLAN deployments are now possible; the solution handles up to 192 APs to extend the mobility domain across campus locations, MTUs (multi-tenant units), and enterprise operations with multiple buildings.

Even with the advanced capabilities of a next-generation WLAN solution, D-Link plans to introduce its new product family with pricing that makes the offering compelling for enterprise customers of any size.
