Integration Announces Silicon DAA Chipset With Analog Interface for IP Telephony, Modem and Line Monitoring Applications MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 1, 2006-- Integration Associates, a pioneering provider of telephony solutions, today announced availability of its IA3222 and IA3223 Silicon Direct Access Arrangement (Silicon DAA) chipset. The IA3222 and IA3223 chipset is voice and V.92 (56K) capable and is suitable for worldwide telephone line interface requirements and standards. The IA3222 and IA3223 chipset implements a high output transmit mode for voice applications and Integration's patented IsoBridge(TM) isolation technology, which eliminates the need for the usual telecom isolation components, such as discrete capacitors, transformers, or optocouplers. IAI's IsoBridge technology can provide virtually unlimited high voltage isolation. The integrated V.92 DAA offers an easy-to-use analog interface with an internal or external DC reference for interfacing to a variety of systems seamlessly. It allows easy "building-block" integration with standalone codecs or codecs integrated into DSPs such as FXO channels in VOIP equipment. It is also optimized for non-modem systems requiring isolated DAAs, such as alarm systems and PBX FXO (Private Branch Exchange) interfaces. Worldwide compliance is provided through software programmability with a single hardware build. This includes the ability to program for additional AC line terminations helping to improve line matching and consequently the performance of FXO channels in VOIP equipment. The chipset also provides a rich set of line monitoring functions such as Caller ID, DTMF and continuous 'line-in-use' monitoring. A programmable ring-detection threshold is also available along with Pulse-dial spark quenching, line voltage and loop-current monitoring and line reversal detection both for on and off hook. The chipset's level of integration combined with lowest pin count and bill of materials (BOM) makes it an ideal replacement for first generation Silicon DAAs such as Integration's DAA2000. The IA3222 and IA3223 chipset is also an ideal alternative to CP Clare's Lite-Link or SiLABS DAA technology. Describing market demand for this new chipset, Jean-Luc Nauleau, CEO of Integration said, "In the past, customers have not had a low cost option for standalone or embedded codecs with an analog interface. For the first time, the IA3222 & IA3223 Silicon DAA chipset delivers the lowest cost BOM and worldwide programmability for applications requiring access to the PSTN (Public Switch Telephone Network)." The IA3222 & IA3223 EZ DAA(TM) chipset is priced under $1 (USD) in high volume. Samples are available in 10-pin MSOP package for the line side (IA3222) and 16-pin QSOP package for the modem side (IA3223). About Integration Integration Associates is a fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Mountain View, California, with offices and design centers in Europe and North America.
