XandMail Launches Mobile Podcast Solution, Makes Blogs and Podcasts Mobile for Everyone; XandMail's Latest Solution Makes It Possible to Directly Receive Blogs, Podcast, and RSS Feeds, Over-the-Air, on Any Mobile Phone

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2006--XandMail, the communication solutions provider announces the availability of Mobile Podcast Solution, a carrier-grade solution which pushes podcast, video or any RSS feeds directly to a mobile phone.

Based on XandMail's push technology, the solution transforms any mobile phone into a RSS reader: it enables subscribers to receive blog posts, listen to podcasts and view video podcasts directly on their mobile terminal.

As Mobile Podcast Solution is conceived for the consumer market and integrates a complete range of push (MMS, or WAP push) options, it is to be marketed by mobile operators who wish to offer original data services to their subscribers.

All the user has to do is list the RSS feeds he wants to keep an eye on (by directly entering the feed address or using the auto-discovery feature) and choose whether he wants to receive a selection of updates or all new posts, how often and at what time of the day.

Mobile Podcast Solution then periodically scans the feeds for updates and when a new post, podcast or video comes up, it is automatically converted into an MMS or a WAP push and sent directly to the subscriber's mobile phone.

Thanks to a powerful rendering engine, Mobile Podcast Solution optimally displays text, photos, and reads podcasts and videopodcasts to fit the terminal's technical specifications.

Mobile Podcast Solution is designed to work with the majority of mobile terminals, as it uses the client (MMS, WAP push, SMS) already embedded in the phone: there is thus no need to download an extra client.

"Blogs and podcasts publish information which are followed by millions every day; the need to make this data mobile is expressed by content creators as well as their audience," said Jerome Lament, Marketing Manager.

"Amazingly enough, in spite of the rapid and global growth of the mobile content market, few are the solutions really dedicated to personal published content" adds Thierry Grillot, Business Unit Manager. "However, feedback from the mobile operators, our primary customers, indicates this lack is filled by our Mobile Podcast Solution."
