mPhase Technologies Promotes Its Market-Disrupting Prototype Nanobattery and Ultra-Sensitive Magnetometer to Potential Buyers

LITTLE FALLS, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 2006--
At Sensors Expo 2006, Company Touts Combination of Products in Development for Sophisticated Sensor Networks

Continuing its drive to promote applications for its nano-structured battery and ultra-sensitive magnetometer technology among government and commercial users, mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: XDSL) today announced its participation at Sensors Expo 2006, June 5-7 in Rosemont, Ill.

Alex Langa, the company's Director of Business Development, will conduct a technical briefing detailing the capabilities of the prototype reserve battery, including its applicability as a power source for remote sensor networks that incorporate the company's envisioned uncooled magnetometer. Sensors Expo attracts users and developers of sensor applications like asset management, environmental monitoring, data acquisition, industrial automation networks, and safety and security.

Last month mPhase and Lucent Technologies Bell Labs announced extensions of their agreements to continue their joint development of the nanobattery and the ultra-sensitive magnetometer.

The prototype nanobattery is a "smart" device because it relies on the principles of microfluidics and electro-wetting to maintain an inactive state for a very long shelf life, retaining its full voltage potential until called upon to produce current. This capability makes it ideal for placement in remote sensor networks designed to monitor environmental conditions or security breaches.

mPhase recently reported that the microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) design of the prototype magnetometer demonstrated extreme resiliency to shock and acceleration in a test conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army's foremost munitions research facility - Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey. The results imply that magnetometers based on a MEMS structure could be used in places where they are subjected to very high shock and vibration, with wide applications in a broad array of defense and security sensor networks, where durability and ruggedness are required.

Sensors Expo 2006, celebrating its 20th anniversary, focuses on sensors and sensor-integrated systems in North America. The event takes place June 5-7, 2006, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center In Rosemont, Ill. Highlights include three keynote presentations, a technical conference covering sensor applications, emerging technologies, embedded systems, and wireless sensing. mPhase is also a participating exhibitor at the showcase of sensor and sensing technologies.

About mPhase Technologies, Inc.

mPhase Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: XDSL) develops and commercializes next-generation telecommunications and nanotechnology solutions, delivering novel systems to the marketplace that advance functionality and reduce costs. The company, awarded the 2005 Frost & Sullivan Excellence in Technology Award and the Nano 50 Award from NASA Nanotech Briefs, is bringing nanotechnology out of the laboratory and into the market with a planned innovative long life power cell. Additionally, the company is working on prototype ultra-sensitive magnetometers that promise up to a 1,000-fold increase in sensitivity as compared with available uncooled sensors.
