OZ Participates in First OMA IMPS 1.3 Interoperability Testing; OZ IMPS Server Tested Against Multiple Clients During OMA TestFest

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 2006--OZ, the leading mobile messaging solution provider, today announced that it has participated in OMA interoperability testing of its IMPS Server and Client during the recent OMA TestFest. The tests took place during the OMA TestFest in Montreal, Canada from March 22nd to March 24th 2006.

During the TestFest, OZ demonstrated that the OZ IMPS Server and Client is able to interoperate with a number of leading organizations' mobile clients using OMA IMPS version 1.3, which was included for the first time in an OMA TestFest in a prototype testing phase. OMA IMPS version 1.3 is currently a Candidate Enabler Release from OMA and represents the latest version of OMA IMPS specifications including new features and functions based on operator feedback.

With over 30 million clients shipped on mobile devices worldwide and powering many of the world's mobile IM implementations, OZ is leading the way in end-to-end mobile messaging solutions. OZ took part in the first ever OMA IMPS test event in 2002, and since then the OZ IMPS Server has become a de facto reference which many original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) are using to test their own IMPS clients.

"The OMA TestFest plays an important role in testing interoperability of new OMA based solutions and OZ is proud to continue our leadership role across the industry," said Skuli Mogensen, CEO and Founder of OZ. "OZ is committed to delivering standards-based solutions to the mobile operators and handset manufacturers of the world. As consumers continue to have an insatiable appetite for mobile messaging services, OZ will continue to customize and roll out OMA IMPS compliant solutions that meet the needs of the mobile messaging user and the mobile operators offering these services."

About the OZ Mobile IMPS Client and Server

The OZ Mobile IMPS Client delivers branded user interfaces that reflect the operator-owned mobile IMPS community. When embedded or pre-loaded into devices, the Client offers operators a quick and easy service roll-out that encourages service adoption. Alternatively, with downloadable clients, mobile operators can offer their existing subscriber base immediate access to their IM accounts on their mobile phone.

The OZ Mobile IMPS Server is the most fully featured server to be tested to the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) specifications for IMPS. It enables mobile operators to build their own mobile IM communities and immediately capitalize on the market opportunity of mobile IMPS services. Additionally, the OZ IMPS Server allows operators to easily integrate IMPS services with other mobility services. It provides support for all the bearers, encodings and communications initiation request channels mandated by the OMA IMPS specifications while minimizing service latency and maximizing operational efficiency.
