Sourcery G++ is Included in Luminary Micro's Stellaris Development Kit; Support is Available From CodeSourcery

GRANITE BAY, Calif., March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Granite Bay-based CodeSourcery, Inc. announces today the immediate availability of its open-source Sourcery G++ GNU Toolchain for Luminary Micro's Stellaris(TM) family of microcontrollers featuring the ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller core. Sourcery G++ for Cortex-M3 is also included in Luminary Micro's Stellaris Development Kits along with coupons for a 10% savings on CodeSourcery's subscription service and support plans.

In partnership with ARM, Ltd., CodeSourcery develops improvements to the GNU Toolchain for ARM processors and provides regular, carefully tested, precompiled releases of the GNU Toolchain. CodeSourcery's current release of Sourcery G++ includes full support for the ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller core and Luminary Micro's Stellaris family of microcontrollers.

"We are very pleased to be able to offer our embedded microcontroller customers access to the high quality open source tools developed and supported by CodeSourcery," said Jean Anne Booth, Chief Marketing Officer of Luminary Micro. "When it comes to open source tools targeted at the ARM architecture, CodeSourcery is the company that customers turn to for quality tools and responsive support. We use Sourcery G++ in our internal engineering development, and just as we have, I think users will find the CodeSourcery tools to be a very attractive development option."

"Working with Luminary Micro on the first ARM Cortex-M3 microcontrollers has been very exciting," said CodeSourcery Chief Sourcerer Mark Mitchell. "Luminary Micro provided alpha and beta feedback on early versions of the toolchain that ships with Luminary Micro's Stellaris Development Kit. We worked closely together to develop the first ARM Cortex-M3 open source tools specifically targeted at the microcontroller market."
