CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 2006--Helicomm, a leading wireless networking solutions provider, today announced that its ZigBee protocol stack has passed ZigBee Compliant Platform (ZCP) certification. ZCP certification enables Helicomm's customers to rapidly deploy ZigBee-based products with FCC/ZCP certified modules from Helicomm. ZCP entitles Helicomm to claim the title of the world's first solution provider with ZigBee-certified modules, development tools and platform. Helicomm's ZigBee-compliant protocol stack supports resource-rich, extended range, full function devices (FFDs) to cost-optimized reduced function devices (RFDs), enabling Helicomm customers to meet cost and performance goals with shorter development time and lower cost. This certificate also enables Helicomm a more flexible business engagement with customers by providing hardware and software from a single source, mitigating complex licensing agreements. According to West Technology Research Solutions, a market analysis firm, there are expected to be more than 120 million devices by 2010 taking advantage of the ZigBee protocol's mesh networking, cost efficient and low power capabilities. As an active ZigBee Alliance member, Helicomm has committed significant resources in developing more reliable and higher quality wirelessly-networked monitoring and control products based on an open global standard. Helicomm will play a key role in providing standard-based wireless platform with ultimate flexibility and mobility. "This certification proves our commitment to the ZigBee market and fully integrated wireless solutions," said Helicomm president, Jack Sun. "We will further our contribution and commitment by providing more high-quality interoperable products for our customers." To make it easy for designers and engineers with the ZigBee protocol, Helicomm features the EZ-Net 1220PA Development Kit (EZDK 1220PA), an easy-to-use development and evaluation ZigBee-certified platform. The kit retails for $2,500 and includes all of the modules, PC interface boards and software needed for ZigBee networking prototype. In addition to the comprehensive development kit, Helicomm also provides a complete package of ZigBee-compliant products (embedded modules, M2M terminals, development tools), networking software and design services based on Helicomm's ZCP protocol stack.
