Microsoft and IGEL Expand Successful Cooperation - IGEL Thin Clients Now with XP Embedded

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fl.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 2006--IGEL Technology, one of the world's leading thin client manufacturers, is expanding its activities under the umbrella of an OEM cooperation with Microsoft(R) and is pleased to present the first thin client with a Windows XPe operating system.

Thanks to Windows XPe using IGEL's future-oriented, cost-effective Clever Client technology is now even easier. Says Heiko Gloge, Managing Director of IGEL Technology, on the successful introduction of the Windows XPe operating system: "The distinctive feature of IGEL Clever Clients has always been their high degree of flexibility. Although our first Thin Clients were developed exclusively using Linux operating systems it has, however, always been our aim to quickly offer a product range covering all operating systems, including Microsoft derivates CE and XPe. The new IGEL Premium models with Windows XPe give the user the familiar Windows look and feel - and offer all the advantages of a true IGEL Clever Client. This enables us to facilitate the quick and easy migration of end users from PCs to IGEL Thin Clients".

"IGEL Technology is known as an innovative thin client supplier with a very strong focus on customer needs. We are pleased to be able to expand our OEM partnership with one of the world's leading thin client manufacturers," says Hardy Poppinga, EMEA Product Manager at Microsoft's Mobile & Embedded Devices Division Germany.
