Control4 to Release Software Developers Kit; Host Second Annual Developers Conference at 2006 Consumer Electronics Show

2006 International CES

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 2005--Control4, the leader in IP-based home control and entertainment systems, today announced it will hold its second annual Developers Conference at CES 2006. This yearly conference provides third-party developers hands-on training for interfacing consumer devices with the Control4 platform. Additionally, Control4 will introduce its first-ever Software Developers Kit 1.0, which will allow developers to work directly with Control4 programming code and develop native drivers that increase overall compatibility with Control4 products.

"The Developers Conference provides an ideal opportunity for Control4 to collaborate with the developer community on enhancing existing and future installations," said Jim Gist, vice president of corporate accounts for Control4. "We are focused on providing developers all the tools and training that can empower them to transform and expand the home automation market. We're pleased to be presenting our Software Development Kit, which significantly enhances third-party integration and customization."

The launch of Control4's Software Developers Kit will allow Control4's many technology development partners to create software designed specifically to Control4's standards. By utilizing this kit, software developers are able to match their code directly with Control4's line of wired and wireless IP-based and ZigBee-based products. This will ensure enhanced driver compatibility, which will result in products that can easily integrate with any user's home automation system.

The Control4 Developers Conference will take place on Jan. 6, 2006, in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Room #S113, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. (PST).

Participating vendors at the conference will include industry leaders such as Thompson, Microsoft, Marantz, Meridian, Klipsch, Harman/Kardon, Triad Speakers. Ember Corp., CardAccess Inc. and the Zigbee Alliance are co-sponsors of the event.
