MQX Embedded Announces Software Platform Availability for AMCC PowerPC(R) 440GR Processor

MQX Embedded(TM) Software Development Tools, Real-Time Operating System and Communication Stacks Support Newest AMCC PowerPC(R) Processor for High-Performance Embedded Markets

MQX Embedded, a business of ARC International (LSE:ARK) that is focused on the software needs of embedded system developers, today announced the availability of its MQX Embedded software products for the Applied Micro Circuits Corp. PowerPC(R) 440GR processor.

MQX Embedded(TM) software for the PowerPC 440GR embedded processor from AMCC will provide the run-time functionality needed for developers to bring advanced, differentiated products to market quickly. PowerPC 440GR processors and MQX Embedded software are ideally suited for a wide range of high-performance networking applications and provide an excellent growth path for existing PowerPC 405xx users requiring increased processor speed, memory performance, and Fast Ethernet at a low cost.

Based on proven success with industry leaders in a wide variety of PowerPC applications, MQX Embedded's support for the 440GR will include the full line of MQX(TM) run-time products including the MQX RTOS, the MQX RTCS(TM) Embedded Internet Stack and the MQX IPNET Embedded Networking stacks as well as the state-of-the-art MQX Host Tools. In addition, MQX Embedded's MetaWare(R) High C/C++(TM) compiler and SeeCode(TM) debugger for PowerPC are available to provide a fully-integrated software development package for the AMCC 440GR processor. The MetaWare PowerPC tools include special support for the PowerPC 440 architecture including support for the PowerPC 440 BookE instruction extensions, hardware floating point unit, multiply and accumulate instructions, and critical interrupts.
