Demand Spreads for ReadyOn; Ardence's ReadyOn Software Installed in Fujitsu PCs

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 28, 2005--Ardence, a leader in designing and developing software that enhances Windows(R) operating systems, today announced that Fujitsu Limited, a leading provider of customer-focused IT and communications solutions for the global marketplace, is installing Ardence's ReadyOn software in most of its consumer-targeted PCs for the Japanese market and has reported that models with ReadyOn are becoming increasingly popular.

Ardence's ReadyOn provides instant-on capabilities for Windows XP embedded-based devices and enables manufacturers to develop virus-proof, corruption-proof and highly secure solutions. Speeding the time it takes for consumer devices to boot up enhances the overall customer experience, which is essential in today's fiercely competitive electronics marketplace. Fujitsu found that ReadyOn offered the configurability and flexibility needed to achieve its performance goals.

"We have received excellent feedback from customers about Fujitsu PCs with ReadyOn," said Takeshi Yamaguchi, Director, Engineering Dept. IV- Desktop Products Div, Personal Systems Business Unit of Fujitsu Limited. "We want to continue expanding our PC business by offering PCs with functions that customers really want."

Stephen Woodard, Ardence's Senior Vice President of Global Operations, said, "the interest we're seeing in ReadyOn is incredible. It provides features and functionality not addressed by Windows that many OEMs and customers need for a better user experience. We appreciate very much Fujitsu's partnership and confidence with ReadyOn, and we believe that we've only touched the tip of this market's iceberg so far. We're about to change that."

Ardence recently enhanced ReadyOn with new features including:

-- Ability to specify Windows commands and allow applications that are not hibernate enabled, such as Media Player, to launch at the ReadyOn boot;

-- Support for ghosting to speed time-to-market (Once a ReadyOn image has been defined, it can be rapidly copied to target systems - greatly simplifying the manufacturing process.);

-- A customizable splash screen for OEMs to enhance the end-user experience with ReadyOn-enabled systems;

-- Expanded operating system support now includes Windows 2000, Server 2003, XP Pro, XPe SP1 and SP2, and hard drives.

ReadyOn was tested and certified on a diverse number of hardware platforms, and supports the following hard drive technologies: IDE, EIDE, Enhanced ATA and Serial ATA. ReadyOn V1.3 is available immediately by contacting Ardence at 781/647-3000.
