Extreme Storage Capacity and Performance Available with Adtron's Latest ArrayPro(TM) Based Flash Disks; 3.5-inch SATA Flash Disk Delivers 80 MB/sec Sustained Transfer Rates

     International Telemetering Conference 2005

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2005--Adtron, an industry leader in delivering smart data storage solutions to the industrial marketplace, announced today the availability of its 3.5-inch SATA (A35FB) flash disk offering. This product joins the Adtron Flashpak(TM) family and complements the already available 3.5-inch IDE (I35FB) and Adtron SATA/IDE 2.5-inch form factor flash disks. All are built on Adtron SmartStorage(TM) framework and the Adtron ArrayPro(TM) performance engine. The unique patent-pending ArrayPro(TM) technology enables the industry's highest sustained performance rates for a given capacity. Up to 128 GBytes fits in a standard 3.5-inch form factor to meet the needs of the most demanding command and control and telemetry applications.

"The NAND flash marketplace dynamics enable us to design and manufacture flash disk products that are more affordable and at higher capacities than ever before," stated Karen Douglass, VP business development. "We anticipate that more industrial and defense applications at the design phase will look at 3.5-inch form factors to employ high capacities and up to 80MB/s sustained performance. With the evolution of defense applications such as the netcentric battlefield, the need for very fast aggregation of large amounts of data for real-time analysis becomes more critical. Adtron's IDE and SATA 3.5-inch solutions represent a cost-effective way to meet this need."

In addition, Adtron's EraSure(TM) technologies further enhance the use of solid state-based solutions in defense applications by providing clear and sanitize functions that are compliant with defense specifications. These features ensure rapid and secure data elimination from the media when required. Optional destroy, write protection and password protection features are also available. Both the A35FB and I35FB flash disks support either commercial (0 to 70 degrees C) or industrial (-40 to 85 degrees C) temperatures.

Shipments of 3.5-inch SATA flash disks will begin in November 2005. Quantity pricing for an 8 GByte A35FB flash disk is $1,900.
