Eclipse Foundation Announces Keynotes for EclipseCon 2006

OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2005--The Eclipse Foundation today announced the keynote speakers for its third annual community conference, EclipseCon 2006. The show brings together the Eclipse community to share and learn new techniques, ideas and technologies, as well as provide information about the latest developments and future plans of the Eclipse projects. The conference will be held March 20-23, 2006 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

The keynote speakers for EclipseCon 2006 will feature industry leaders including:

-- Brian "Boz" Elloy, senior vice president of software products, Borland Software;

-- Ward Cunningham, director, Committer Community Development, Eclipse Foundation;

-- Joel Spolsky, CEO of Fog Creek Software and noted author of the 'Joel On Software' weblog;

-- Greg Stein, chairman of Apache Foundation; and

-- John Wiegand and Erich Gamma, PMC leaders of Eclipse Platform project.

"We are thrilled to present an experienced group of speakers to pique the interest of all attendees at EclipseCon 2006," said Mike Milinkovich, executive director of the Eclipse Foundation. Registration for EclipseCon 2006 is now open. The program consists of over three days of sessions organized into three tracks:

-- Developer Track - Technical sessions and tutorials for developers covering Eclipse core technology, new developments and demonstrations;

-- User Track - Case studies, best practices and techniques for the use of Eclipse tools and the Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP); and

-- Business Track - Sessions examining marketing, business development and industry issues of interest to the Eclipse community.
