ADIC Data Management Software Adds Support for Major New Platforms and Devices; StorNext 2.6 Extends Lead in Support for the Largest Range of Operating Systems, Tape Libraries, and Tape Drive Models

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 4, 2005--Advanced Digital Information Corporation (NASDAQ:ADIC), a leading supplier of Intelligent Storage(TM) solutions to the open systems market, today announced the availability of StorNext(R) 2.6. ADIC StorNext storage management software allows business applications to benefit from archive management and shared workflow. Version 2.6 features interoperability with an expanded range of OS platforms and devices, extending StorNext's lead in heterogeneous SAN file sharing and policy-based data migration. Support for heterogeneous environments allows StorNext customers to easily add new applications, platforms, and storage systems to their business processes without complicating data sharing or reducing productivity.

New StorNext File System support in the 2.6 version includes AMD32, Opteron, SGI Altix, and Xeon EM64T platforms, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0, IBM AIX 5.3, SGI IRIX 6.5.27 and 6.5.28, and Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise 9 operating systems. For the Storage Manager, StorNext 2.6 also includes support for ADIC's Pathlight VX disk backup solution, IBM's 3584 tape library, and for LTO-3 and 3592 tape drives.
