Mouser Electronics to Distribute Helicomm ZigBee(TM) Modules and Development Kits; Companies Partner to Promote Standards-based Networking Solutions

CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 4, 2005--Helicomm, a leading wireless networking solutions provider, and Mouser Electronics, Inc., the fastest growing electronics distributor in the industry, today announced that they have entered into a distribution agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Mouser Electronics will operate as Helicomm's North American distributor. Customers can purchase Helicomm's standards-based wireless modules and development kits online, through Mouser's e-commerce website at www.mouser.com/Helicomm.

According to Mouser President and CEO Glenn Smith, the distribution agreement with Helicomm is in keeping with the distributor's business model of continuing to offer the newest, most innovative products and the latest technologies to its customers.

Mouser Electronics will initially distribute Helicomm's EZ-Net DevKit and IP-Link embedded modules. Helicomm's EZ-Net DevKit (EZDK 1220PA) provides a highly integrated rapid prototyping platform that provide customers the fast track to wireless connectivity based on industrial standard. The EZDK 1220PA includes 6 IP-Link 1220PA modules with USB interface and PC-based networking and management software for module provisioning and wireless network management. Helicomm's EZDK 1220PA is now shipping and is priced at $2,500.

Helicomm's 8051-based IP-Link embedded modules are IEEE 802.15.4-compliant and support Helicomm's ZigBee-Ready networking software. Helicomm's 8051-based IP-Link modules also support their IP-Net, an innovative "serial mesh mode," allowing RS232/485 data streams to be transmitted over multiple hops to improve data reliability and increase transmission range.
